Wild and hairy

Some more photobooth doodling....more spiders!

Negative thinking

Tunnel vision

Horizon line

I used up the last of my large paper on a picture of Georgia Bay. Here it is in a line at a corner of the wall.

Working late in the colour darkroom

I'm just trying to use up all of my paper before I leave or else I'll have to throw it away. While I wait I have been doodling. More weirdos.

Triangle Tumblers

This is how you make triangle tumblers:
1 - put colourbar in annealer
2 - set beautiful triangle mold on floor
3 - Open annealer door and look at suddenly appearing triangle tumblers
4 - Sunshine magically transports them into a row on a piece of clean white paper.

Done and done.

Crazy Ice

Old Mail Shelf

Did you know that one day I went to work and this was sitting on the loading dock of the post office and i asked if i could have it and they said yes and now i have a beautiful maple post office shelf that weighs a million zillion pounds but is nice because it was free?  yes.  that is what happened.

Cornish Hen!

I started work on my cornish hen portrait again, the background is now started.  Stay tuned for the progression!

Heike's excursion

fabric ball of fun

heike can't post on the blog with her blackberry so she sent us this to post for her!

Hi ladies,

I can't seem to post to the blog from my phone, so this will have to do. I wanted to share with you the creative thing I did yesterday!  It still needs to be finshed up after I wash it and the filling. Its a first birthday present :)

(I don't have JL email...could someone forward to her or post on my behalf...I will need to take this up with Blackberry!)

drawing of the vistas

i did this in the darkroom while i was waiting for my prints to come out

6 vistas

here are 6 - 20 inch square photographs that i took last week when i was up the glorious sulpher mountain.  ive been in the colour darkroom with my sub-standard negative development and my substandard expired photo-paper to make this 10 foot composition on my studio wall.
I have made 3 copies of each frame so that i can experiment with the others by cutting them up and collaging with their jagged edges!!  weeee

shame that the 4th and 5th don't quite meet.... im  missing a slice of reality.

Litl Hausen

Here is a sketch I have done of my new friend Chris's Tiny House. He is in my business class. He will be making and selling these homes under 108' feet. He is a really great person. I hope I have captured what his house will look like when it's finished. He will be living in this one with his partner.I think I'll add some more shading underneath so it doesn't appear to be floating and perhaps a wreath beside the door?

The beginnings of a possible wall mural

deep sea battle

printing again

i am printing colour photos again, which i haven't done since leaving school approx. 7 years ago.  yikes!  im still using the same paper i had left over from then, so it ultra-expired.  it is coming out really yellow, which makes for some interest, but is less than optimal.  luckily i am just churning through it and making images i can collage with, so am not completely worried about them looking not so perfect.   anyway, here are some experiments and documents so far!
