back in my basement again.

ive been on a long meander of coming back from banff then the holidays then heike and i got out of town for the fun of it all!  so now i am back in my basement and playing with these acetate sheets i printed last minute in banff to play with and i am loving the expeiments.  I thought it would be fun to print exclusivly from my stock of images i have shot in barbados for the fun of it.  the tropical feelings don't hurt either.  what do you say heidi, can you hook me up with a show to sell some of this stuff!?  maybe it would move down there!

Honest opinions wanted can I get away with cramming everything onto one side or do I need to pay for two sides. I think I know the answer but I'm frugal. Any other suggestions or ideas are appreciated as well. I'd like to get this printed ASAP. :)

Having trouble..

I am drawing this for my cousin to give to her friend and this is the only picture she has and the dog is now gone. I added another leg but am having trouble and not happy with the result. Any suggestions?

hi guys.
sorry about my absence!  i was on a wild adventure to banff and then i came back to heike having vacation time so we went on an internet hiiatus.  i have a backlog of stuff, but (unlike my normal self) i posted stuff to facebook which i think you will have seen.  so i guess i will just start posting stuff that i make from today instead of trying to reach into the archives and bore you with double postings.  i am going to be working with all the stuff i made in banff in the days to come anyway, so there will be lots of posting ahead with banff material.  i have missed you fair blog!

anyway, on to a post....
these are a few images i got from an experiment with a pinhole lens someone at the banff centre lent to me.   it is pretty hard to use with any accuracy and the little squiggle seems unmovable, which would be fine because it looks kind of neat, if only it wasn't always in the exact same spot.  anyway, it was fun to mess around with.  i would like to try it when i have a good subject to photograph.  can you see the portrait of a dog barking at me in the second image??  spooky devil dog!

 

i was told that it might mess up my camera a bit, so i waited till i got home to try it on my old D-SLR.   i don't know what it will do to it, but i figured i would heed the warning, still hoping it doesn't mess with the 20D much either though.

The original is in the form of a little pink book, which is actually a regular choice for a bedtime story at our house. This scan puts it out of order, but it's still great.

Christmas tree

Ta Da, we seem to be having some light issues, everytime I look at the tree a few more are out, but the girls did a beauty job of decorating.  We made a new batch of dough ornaments for tradition sake, we flavored this batch with cinnamon. Mater has eaten one of these as well...

Mater eventually ate the carrot. Thanks to Kate for the hat, made for me when I got back from Australia in 2005, unfortunately it has stretched past the size of wearing, fortunately to the perfect size of a snowman head!

New Pencil = Love

After very little sleep last night, due to an ill Emily (she's feeling a bit better) I went shopping for pencils Kate as my witness and after saying out loud that I didn't want any hard pencils I accidentally bought 3 hard ones, in my defense they were being stored under B not H (in the wrong section) but I did manage to pull though and purchase one pencil which I love, I wanted to try it out so while Emily was snoozing on the couch I drew this lady. I maybe should have been napping as well as now I'm rambling in typing form. I am pretty excited about this pencil and am about to redraw the old car with the new pencil.
